Carolyn Ray, age 82, of Wheaton, Missouri.

Carolyn Ray, age 82, of Wheaton, Missouri passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Cox Monett Hospital in Monett, Missouri.

She was born August 13, 1941 in Springfield, Missouri the daughter of Ralph and Helen (Davis) Ross. On July 7, 1961 she was united in marriage to E. L. Ray, who preceded her in death on January 22, 2010. Also preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, David Ross and Richard Ross.

Surviving are one son, Chris Ray and his wife Lana of Wheaton, Missouri; one daughter, Mindy Beeson and her husband Shawn of Wheaton, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Clayton Ray, Lily Ray, Cooper Ray, Shawn Beeson, Randy Beeson, Telisha Beeson, Mollie Beeson, Chris Smith, Jaron Beeson, Aaron Wiseman and Jay Ehrhardt and nine great grandchildren.

Carolyn grew up and received her education in Wheaton, Missouri graduating from Wheaton High School, later attending SMSU attaining an associate degree. E.L. and Carolyn owned and operated several businesses, L-Rays Restaurant, the laundry mat, the car wash and The Donut Shop all in Wheaton. After selling the businesses she worked for Young’s Insurance in Purdy, Missouri for 15 years from where she retired. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning her house and mowing. Carolyn spent all her free time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren going to various school activities and just spending time with them. She was a member of Wheaton United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 12, 2024 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Bob Howard will conduct the services. Burial will be at Muncie Chapel Cemetery in Wheaton, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.

Contributions may be made to Muncie Chapel Cemetery in memory of Carolyn.
