Carroll Lavern Craig, age 81, of Cassville, MO
Carroll Lavern Craig, age 81, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas.
He was born June 14, 1940 in Cassville, Missouri, the son of Roy and Genevieve (Allison) Craig. On February 15, 1991 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas he was united in marriage to Sue Trotter, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Carroll Lavern “Bub” Craig II and his wife Priscilla of Cassville, Missouri, Donald Lee Craig and his wife Missy of Cassville, Missouri, Al Don Trotter and his wife Tisha of Mt. Vernon, Missouri and Joe Don Trotter and his wife Kathy of Cassville, Missouri; two daughters Laura Ann Reavis and her husband Andy of Cassville, Missouri and Gina Trotter of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Glen Craig of Cassville, Missouri and Leon Craig of Cassville, Missouri; one sister, Faustine Penn of Cassville, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren whom he thought were great.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Ray and Gerald; his first wife, Rayma and close friend, Don Trotter. Also preceding him in death were many deer, quail, moles and armadillos.
Carroll grew up and received his education in Cassville, graduating from Cassville High School in 1958. He worked as a lineman and telephone repairman and was a farmer and cattleman. He served as a road commissioner and a Cassville School Board member for several years. One of his favorite pastimes was watching TV, anything with John Wayne, all westerns, Perry Mason and Mattlock and would watch them again and again. He was also an avid reader, reading one book in two days. Always having an overwhelming desire to help others made him a giver and a helper. Spending time with friends and especially his family was important to him. He stated “I am at peace with God and look forward to going.” Carroll’s motto, “I had fun” and “I lived the life.”
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Tony Ball and Pastor Donnie Spears will conduct the services.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children in memory of Carroll.
