Cecil Levern Robbins, age 88, of Cassville, Missouri

            Cecil Levern Robbins, age 88, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas.

            He was born December 17, 1935 in Cassville, Missouri the son of George Corniluis Rinehard “Neal” and Ida Belle (Garner) Robbins. On April 28, 1975 he was united in marriage to Nancy Ford, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Neil Robbins of Monett, Missouri and Cecil Wayne Robbins and his wife Jennifer of Purdy, Missouri; one daughter, Amanda Robbins of Purdy, Missouri and five grandchildren, Colby Robbins, Hope Robbins, Bayleigh Robbins, Emily Robbins and Madison Robbins.  

            Preceding him in death were his parents; five brothers, Herman Robbins, Wilbur Marvin Robbins, Glen Levere Robbins, Charles Lindy Robbins and Joseph Marion Robbins; five sisters, Nina Luceil Kipps, Dorthy Belle Evans, Gladys Fern Robbins, Arvilla Mae Stringer and Pauline Stewart and one grandchild, an Angel Baby.

            Cecil grew up and attended school (if he wasn’t skipping to go fishing) in Cassville, Missouri. He enlisted in the United States Navy serving four years aboard the USS J Douglas Blackwood earning a Navy Good Conduct Medal. Cecil worked in construction most of his life. He did everything he could to help Nancy raise their kids, even though some jobs were not easy, he wanted to give them the best of everything. Hunting was his passion, he hunted deer, birds, rabbits, coons and squirrels with family and friends. He enjoyed all types of fishing but most of his time was spent at Roaring River State Park fly fishing with his kids and brother, Glen.  Cecil enjoyed tying his own flies which he started at the age of six, he also enjoyed tying flies for friends and family. He loved planting a garden for the family in the spring, it was always beautiful. Spending time outdoors was a given, he enjoyed just sitting under a shade tree watching the wildlife. More than anything he loved his family, especially his kids and grandchildren.

            Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Bob Gaddis will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be at Horner Cemetery in Cassville, Missouri.

            The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

            Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Cecil.

            The family would like to honor Cecil’s love of hunting by inviting everyone to wear camo or hunter orange.
