Charles Roy Brattin, age 82.

Charles Roy Brattin, age 82, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2024, at his home in Cassville, Missouri. Born on July 24, 1941, in Cassville to the late Leo and Dallis (Lane) Brattin.

A proud 1959 graduate of Wheaton High School and Valedictorian of his class, Charles embarked on a career with the United States Postal Service, where he dedicated thirty years as a rural route carrier in the communities of Wheaton and Cassville. His commitment and friendly demeanor made him a beloved figure along his routes. Charles's sense of community involvement extended to the Cassville Masonic Lodge, where he was an active and respected member.

On May 27, 1960, in Wheaton, Missouri Charles married the love of his life, Carolyn Haynes. Together, they cultivated a family rooted in love and laughter. Though Carolyn predeceased him, their union was blessed with three children who continue to honor his legacy: Tonya Belk and her husband Jerry of Joplin, Missouri, Tammy Pueppke and her husband Daniel of Cassville, Missouri and Teresa Stumpff and her husband Donnie of Cassville, Missouri and one brother, Don Brattin and his wife Geraldine of Marionville, Missouri. Charles was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Paul Dollis, Tracy Dollis, Trent Pueppke, Dillon Stumpff and his wife Savanna, Parker Stumpff and his wife Ashley, Shania Stehlik and her husband Cody, and he cherished the moments with his eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Haynes) Brattin; one sister, Beverly Riddle; one brother, Robert Lee Brattin and one brother-in-law, Larry Riddle.

Charles's enthusiasm for life was evident in his numerous interests. A man of the outdoors, he found solace and excitement in activities like woodworking, fishing, and hunting, with a special passion for quail hunting. His musical talents were a joy to behold, as he skillfully played his guitar and fiddle, often accompanying the melodies with his singing. His love for music was only matched by his devotion to his faith as a member of the Corinth Baptist Church.

As we bid farewell to Charles Roy Brattin, we celebrate the remarkable life he led and the countless lives he touched. His spirit, characterized by generosity and a gentle demeanor, will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
