Christine James, age 85, of Springfield, Missouri.
Christine James, age 85, of Springfield, Missouri, formerly of Cassville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri.
She was born on November 21, 1936 in Barry County, Missouri the daughter of Ivy and Laura (Ownings) Cantwell. On June 6, 1953 in Exeter, Missouri she was united in marriage to Bob James, who preceded her in death on August 13, 2013. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Bobby Allen James; one granddaughter, Destry James and three brothers, Lee Martin Cantwell, Ivy Daryl Cantwell and Billy Allen Cantwell.
Surviving are five daughters, Linda Grimes of Springfield, Missouri, Debbie Stephens and her husband Harry of Exeter, Missouri, Leasa Lightfoot and her husband Garland of Bolivar, Missouri, Carol Myers of Morrisville, Missouri and Christy McDaniel and her husband Donnie of Pleasant Hope, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Regina James of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters, Flora Sue Blalock of Topeka, Kansas and Barbara Lee of Cassville, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Christine grew up in Barry County receiving her education in Exeter, Missouri where she graduated from Exeter High School. After graduating she worked at Exeter High School as a secretary, later she was employed by the Farmers Home Administration in Cassville as an administrative assistant from where she retired. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and cooking. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Donnie Spears will conduct the services. Burial will be at Corinth Cemetery in Cassville.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
