David Nicholson, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2024, in Branson, Missouri. Born on November 23, 1961, in Wichita, Kansas, David's journey through life was marked by dedication, service, and a love for the simple pleasures that nature offered.  David will be laid to rest by his family at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma on Monday June 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM with full military honors.  Local arrangements provided by Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory in Branson, MO.

David grew up in the heart of the Midwest, where he attended school in Oologah, Oklahoma. After completing high school, he answered the call of duty and joined the army, serving his country with honor for eighteen years. Part of his military service was in the Army National Guard while he pursued a career in law enforcement. His time in the military instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.

David had also been successful in school, earning a degree in criminal justice and later while pursuing his interests in aviation he obtained an associate's degree in aircraft mechanics. His expertise in commercial aircraft mechanics and his work ethic led him to a fulfilling role with American Eagle.

David's love for the outdoors was expansive, he found relaxation and joy in hunting and fishing, embracing the tranquility of nature. An avid sport shooter, David also relished the thrill of the range. He was also meticulous in his free time with model airplanes, a hobby that mirrored his professional life.

Motorcycles offered David a sense of freedom and excitement, which carried over to his time with nieces and nephews that sent them down various daring paths. When not engaged in his many hobbies, he was an enthusiastic reader, delving into books that expanded his knowledge and imagination.

Family was the cornerstone of David's life, and he cherished every moment spent with his nieces and nephews. His desire for cooking was another way he expressed his love, often spoiling his family with tasteful meals and snacks that left them eagerly anticipating the next culinary delight.  He was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures, whether it was being around horses or sharing a laugh with friends.

David is survived by his sister Denise Nicholson of Reeds Spring, MO.; nephew Anthony (Tiffany) Gibson of Fayetteville, AR., nieces; RueAnna (Dee) Brawley of Mammoth Spring, AR., Jillian (Brandon) Heuton of Reeds Spring, MO., Savanah (Michael) Freidel of Lake in the Hills, IL., great nephews; Jacob Wells and Cylas Heuton, and best friends Todd and Julie Chism of Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Densil and Laura (Evans) Nicholson, who instilled in him the values of kindness and family that he carried throughout his life.
