Donita Kay Jagels Wilson was born on June 19, 1949, in Appleton City, Missouri, to Marvin and Velda (Fischer) Jagels and departed this life on Monday, December 16, 2024, at her home in Branson, Missouri at the age of 75. She was baptized on July 9, 1949 and confirmed on April 7, 1963 at Zion Lutheran Church. She attended elementary at Zion Lutheran School and graduated high school in Rich Hill, Missouri where she met her husband, Larry Wilson. After graduating from college with a teaching degree, she taught elementary with her last 18 years teaching kindergarten at Reeds Spring Elementary School.
Larry and Donita were united in marriage on June 27, 1969, at Zion Lutheran Church in Prairie City. They were blessed with 3 children, Tracey in 1973, Brandon in 1975 and Kara in 1976. Donita was active in her church and served as the Sunday School superintendent and a Sunday School teacher for numerous years. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, playing games - especially Mexican train and visiting with family and friends. She was especially proud of her 6 grandchildren. She loved watching them participate in sports, dance recitals and band concerts. Donita and her family all enjoyed spending summer vacations together.
Donita is survived by her husband Larry; daughter Tracey Wilson, Branson, MO; son Brandon and Julie Wilson, Branson, MO; daughter Kara and Steve Shank, Argyle, TX; brother Ricky and Linda Jagels, Rockville, MO; Grandchildren: Haydon and Will Wilson and Payton, Langley, Levi, and Boaz Shank; sister-in-law Shirley Fritts, Butler, MO and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding Donita’s death were her parents Marvin and Velda Jagels and granddaughter Abigail Shank.
Memorial contributions are welcome at Faith Lutheran School, PO Box 1807, Branson, MO 65615.
Services will be held Friday, December 20, 2024 at Faith Lutheran Church, 221 Malone Dr., Branson, MO 65616. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, with funeral service to follow at 11:00 am in the church. Graveside services will be Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
