Elinor Murrow

Elinor Murrow, 87, of Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Elinor Murrow, 87, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, peacefully passed away at her home on December 19, 2024.  She was born on February 6, 1937, in Pennock, Minnesota, the daughter of Carl and Berna Sandburg.  She grew up on a farm in Minnesota with her parents, her sister Helen and her brother Bill.  She was a tomboy, always wanting to help her dad on the farm.

Elinor found the love of her life, her second husband Bill Murrow, in the early 1980s till he passed away in the early 2000’s.   She will join him in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.

Elinor had a passion for gardening.  People would come from all over just to see the flowers around her house. Her place was called the Blooming House, it was beautiful.

In the 1980s, before computers, she became a draftsman now called graphic designer.   It was a man's job, and she broke through that glass ceiling.  Elinor stood out in her profession because she was a female working in a male dominating position.  She outshined most.

She was very active beside work/playing with her flowers, enjoyed riding bikes, and rollerblading well into her 70’s.  Elinor and Cherie, her daughter-in-law, would enjoy biking/ rollerblading over to a local brewery and having an afternoon beer and back.

She loved her family and was very supportive.  Elinor especially enjoyed the holidays when the family got together and played cards.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Diamond State Cremation located in Lead Hill, Arkansas.  Condolences may be left at www.DiamondStateCremation.com.
