Floyd Daniel Shook

Floyd Daniel Shook, age 75 of Omaha, Arkansas

Floyd Daniel Shook, age 75 of Omaha, Arkansas, went home to meet his Lord, March 26, 2023, surrounded by his family. He entered this life September 6, 1947, in Marion, Arkansas. Floyd was one of 11 children born to W.J. and Ina Mae Shook. His parents, five brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death. On May 14, 1966, Floyd married the love of his life, Wanda Martin. They shared 57 years of adventure and love together. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

At an early age, Floyd learned the value of hard work and an appreciation of the outdoors. This served him well during his working years as the owner and operator of his landscaping business. When he was not beautifying others’ homes with his talents as a landscaper, Floyd had a keen eye and amazing timing for finding rare antique cars, which he restored and collected. Floyd also had a knack for locating and catching rainbow and brown trout on the beautiful waters of Lake Taneycomo. Having a wonderful sense of humor and a spirit of adventure, the stories he shared would often lead to laughter and amazement (but he would let you know in the end if it actually happened). Most of all, Floyd was a generous man who loved his family and would give more than he had to help others in times of need. His memories and legacy will live on for many generations.

Floyd is survived by the love of his life, Wanda Shook of Omaha, Arkansas; their children: Junior Shook and wife Rose of Hollister, Missouri, Scott Shook of Alpena, Arkansas, Tammy Johnson and husband Brian of Omaha, Arkansas; a son-in-law, Andy Matthews of Kissee Mills, Missouri; five grandchildren: Courtney Matthews, Chandler Shook, Jesse Blake Matthews, Cameron Shook, and Trace Shook; three sisters: Zelma Macbroom of Milan Tennessee, Wanda Ramsey of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and Eva Goff of Waldron, Arkansas; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of the life of Floyd Shook will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Life Abundant Church, Bergman, Arkansas, with Pastor Scott Shook officiating. Burial will be at a later time in Gaither Cemetery. To leave an online condolence and to share a memory, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com .
