Frank “Jay” Joseph Steed, Jr, of Branson West, Missouri.

Frank “Jay” Joseph Steed, Jr, of Branson West, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones October 10th, 2021. 

He was born April 22nd, 1966, in Memphis, TN, the son of Darlys “Fay” (Foster) Steed Chiles and the late Frank Joseph Steed, Sr. 

Jay graduated high school from Memphis University School where he was an avid athlete in track, soccer, and his biggest love of all, football. He received many athletic awards including the 1984 Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association Player of the Year for football. Jay continued to play football where he excelled at Georgia Tech and Ole’ Miss. He earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business from Christian Brothers University. 

Jay married his wife, Kim, in 2002 and moved his family from Arkansas to the Table Rock area, where they were very active and involved in the Table Rock Community. 

A very driven and career-oriented person, Jay started working at an early age from mowing yards to working with his father. He sold his first house at the age of 12. His work ethic afforded him many opportunities in his life, the creation of several successful companies and the respect of his employees. Jay focused on real estate development and home construction. A true visionary, Jay had the ability to see beyond a plot of land and create lasting memorable entities for many. Jay always excelled, whether it was his family, sports, or business. He had the biggest heart of all, despite his tough exterior. Jay will surely be missed by his family, friends, and associates. 

Survivors include his wife, Kim Steed, and their three children, Alexandra, Joseph, and Jack, all of Branson West, Missouri. His Mother, Darlys “Fay” Chiles of Branson West, Missouri, his sister, Christie Thomas of Branson West, Missouri, and numerous extended family and friends. 

Jay was preceded in death by his father, Frank Joseph Steed, Sr., his stepfather Harvey “Corky” Chiles, his aunt, Judy Halfacre, his uncle, Charles Halfacre, and cousin, Melissa Beckham. 

A visitation will be Saturday, October 16th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. with his Celebration of Life immediately following at 12:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Kimberling City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jay Steed Memorial Scholarship Fund at Central Bank, P.O. Box 130, Branson, Missouri, 65615.
