Gayle “Eddy” Edward Egbert, age 82, of Reeds Spring, Missouri.

Gayle “Eddy” Edward Egbert, age 82, of Reeds Spring, Missouri, passed away July 1, 2024. He entered this life October 9, 1941, the son of Harry and Blanche (French) Egbert in Abilene, Kansas. Eddy was joined in marriage to Berna “Bunny” Dean Walters on January 28, 1960.

Eddy proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1959 through 1962. After his time in the military, he began a career as an electrician. Eddy was an avid reader; after losing his sight he enjoyed listening to books on tape. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling with his wife, woodworking, and listening to an eclectic variety of music. Eddy loved his family greatly and cherished being able to spend time with them. A wise insightful soul, he held a passion for counseling young men and couples. The moments and memories created over Eddy’s incredible life will be treasured by all who knew him.

Eddy is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Bunny Egbert of Reeds Spring, Missouri; two daughters: Cally Ross of Reeds Spring, Missouri, and Melody Draper of Gervais, Oregon; one son, John Edward Egbert and wife, Kathy of Chandler, Arizona; sister, Deanna Egbert of Kansas; six grandchildren: Travis Ross, Cameron Ross, Boston Draper, Aaron Ross, Gabriel Draper, and Zane Ross; and eight great-grandchildren: Hayden, Neal, Luke, Natalie, Holland, Atlas, Leah, and Aura.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronnie; three sisters: Delphine, Donnie, and Rosalie; and son-in-law: Ron.

There will be a memorial service held 10:00 a.m. Saturday July 6, 2024, at Hope Fellowship Church, 19459 MO-413, Branson West, Missouri, with Pastor Jeff Duncan officiating. Memorial contributions in Eddy’s name may be made to Preferred Hospice, www.preferredhospice.com/. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
