Harold Eugene “Gene” Doke, age 89, of Seligman, Missouri.

Harold Eugene “Gene” Doke, age 89, of Seligman, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at his home.

He was born August 23, 1935 in Garfield, Arkansas the son of Harold Lee and Gladys (Schell) Doke. On July 3, 1964 in Tulsa, Oklahoma he was united in marriage to JoNelle “Jody” Shell, who survives. Also surviving are his son, Marvin Douglas Doke and his wife Joanna of Seligman, Missouri; four daughters, Patty Hickerson and her husband Ron of Knoxville, Tennessee, Helen Gibson and her husband Ken of Seligman, Missouri, Vivian Barber and her husband Jeff of Exeter, Missouri and Ruthie Henderson and her husband Chuck of Seligman, Missouri; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren with one on the way.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Gene first attended school in Pea Ridge, Arkansas until moving to Oklahoma where he graduated in 1954 from Webster High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After graduating he worked at Hercules Tools where he met his wife, Jody. After retiring from National Tank in Tulsa he decided to build chicken houses that he owned and operated, growing for George’s Incorporated from where he retired after 25 years. Gene enjoyed going to Pea Ridge National Military Park, taking vacations to Colorado, watching TV, watching the birds and squirrels, and had fun giving everyone a hard time. He was a member of Garfield Church of Christ.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Garfield Church of Christ in Garfield, Arkansas, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Minister Bobby Vaughn will conduct the services. Burial will be at Buttram Chapel Cemetery in Pea Ridge, Arkansas.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
