James (Jim) Verlon Pryor, of Merriam Woods Village, formerly of Monett, passed away on December 20, 2021 quietly at his home with the love of his life, his wife, Janet, by his side, following a short illness. The family plans to have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Jim was born on July 25, 1952, the son of Verlon Pryor and Nadine (Thompson, Pryor) McMillen who both preceded him in death. He married Janet Lowery on December 20, 1998. He was a self-employed flooring installer and a United States Army veteran. He served from 1983 - 1986 with the majority of his time in West Germany.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Pryor; two daughters from previous marriages, Reneé (Pryor, Bozo) Vickers, and Stephen; Jamie (Pryor) Matejcek; bonus daughter, Jade (Pryor) Schumann and James (Jamie); step son, Joe Seitz and Mindy; nine grandchildren, Grace (monkey) Vickers; Eddie (squirt) Tunnel; Gus, Ava, Enrico (Rico), and Amber Matejcek; Tyler Schumann; Kelley Seitz and Madison; Hayley Seitz; two great-grandchildren, Granton and Waylon Seitz; one nephew, Steven Shelley; one sister, Darlene Shelley; one cousin/brother, Alvin J. Pryor and his special sidekick, his dog, Mickey.
Jim loved spending time with his family; playing with his dog Mickey; singing gospel music at his church and working on projects around his home. He was a dreamer that always looked for ways to improve things. He had a laugh and smile that will always be remembered by all those that love him dearly. Beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle and friend who is loved and missed so much. He attended school in Wheaton, MO and graduated in 1970 at Wheaton High School.
Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home of Forsyth, MO.
