Jerry C. Howell died peacefully with loving care after a short stay at the Manor at Elfindale hospice unit in Springfield, MO on February 6, 2022 at the age of 82.
Son of Carl Arthur and Helen (Ogle) Howell, Jerry was born on October 11, 1939 in Adair County, MO. He grew up in the rolling hills of rural Northeast MO near Browning and North Salem. He married Dorothy Joanne Quigley in 1957 and Sally Anne Darrah in 1964.
Jerry began his career with Hy-Vee in 1961 in Kirksville, MO and he managed several stores throughout Iowa and Nebraska for over 25 years. In 1989 Jerry and Sally moved to Branson, MO and owned/operated the Quick Mart convenience store and Southtown Spirits prior to their full retirement.
Jerry was a charming individual who loved to make others laugh with his quick quips. He loved golf and spent many hours on the fairways throughout the country. He was also very active in the Stonebridge Country Club for many years.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wives and his parents. Loved ones he leaves behind include his four daughters and their spouses Sheryl Hilburn (Ronnie) of Naples, FL, Kathy Frank (Jerry) of Rolla, MO, Margaret Hoke (Fred) of Lincoln, NE, and Jodi Fidone (James) of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by his sister (Judy Harlan) and brother (Jimmie Howell) and their spouses, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a nephew.
