Joe Gooding Rickman, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at his home on December 14, 2024 at the age of 82.
Born on September 9, 1942, Joe was the son of John W. Rickman & Ermalee (Gooding) Rickman. He graduated from Branson High School in 1960 and furthered his education, earning a bachelor's degree at the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis. His career found him working for Emerson Electric and Conducter in St. Louis before retiring from a 47-year career with Boeing as a logistics analyst engineer.
Joe married his loving wife Denise on November 29, 1982 in Branson. After living many years in St. Charles, they returned to Missouri in 2012 making their home in Stone County.
Joe was a faithful member of Living Word Church in Branson West. He enjoyed sports and being outside playing golf. Family was an integral and valuable part of Joe’s life. When his son was younger, he enjoyed watching him play sports and in the later years, spending time together as a family was a cherished pastime.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, John & Ermalee Rickman and one brother William Jan Rickman.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Denise Rickman of the home; son, Wes Johnson & wife Lorie of Reeds Spring; grandsons, Tate and Clayton; great grandsons, Tuff and Jeremiah; nephew, Mike Rickman of Pasadena, CA; nieces, Lisa Rickman Gamino of Rockwall, TX and Melissa Woody of Dallas, GA; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Rickman of Rockwall, TX.
Services for Joe will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a celebration of Joe’s life to follow at 4:00 p.m.
