John Earl Jennings 69, of Protem, MO., passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
John was born July 3, 1954, in Gainesville, Missouri to James and Martha “Helen” (Clemons) Jennings. He attended and graduated from Forsyth High School, Forsyth, Mo.
John was a master craftsman with incredible sought after talent that allowed him to travel across the country creating beautiful pieces for galleries and museums.
John enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his kids and grandkids. You could often find him going for a ride on his trusty steed, Gus, driving through the pastures to check his cows or putting in a long day’s work in the hay fields. Once the work was done, John had no with problem casting a line into Bull Shoals Lake or stepping into the woods to hunt deer and turkey.
He was preceded in death by his father James Jennings and his wife Marti Jennings.
John is survived by his wife Lisa Jennings of the home, son Jarred Jennings (Erin Shean) Springfield, MO, Grandmother Emily McMillan, Kansas City, MO., step-son TC Trotter (Melody) Fordland, MO., granddaughters Gracie, Ashtyn and Emma Trotter, step-daughter Devin Sonnenfelt (Josh) Bradleyville, granddaughter Hayden Naylor (Preston), grandson Gunnar Fisher, granddaughter Brynli Inman-Sonnenfelt, mother Helen Jennings, sisters Judy Looney (Jack) Protem, MO., Julie Goodbar (Richard), Little Rock, AR., brothers Bill Jennings of Protem, MO, Tom Jennings (Lisa) of Hartville, MO, Bob Jennings (Joyce) Nixa, MO, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great Nephews.
The funeral service will be at Protem Community Church Protem, Mo. on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 3PM with visitation starting at 2PM. Pastor Ed Hunsaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Protem Cemetery, Protem.
