John Leo Kartheiser

John Leo Kartheiser of Forsyth, Missouri.

John Leo Kartheiser of Forsyth, Missouri passed away on October 16th, 2024 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife Sandra and his son John William Kartheiser. He is also survived by bothers Wiliam (Sharon) Kartheiser, Donald (Jeanette) Kartheiser, Mark Kartheiser, sisters Julie (Bill) Hilbert, Linda (Tom) Steiner, Amy (Eric) Guerin, sister-in-laws Bonnie Kartheiser, Brenda Kartheiser, and his Godmother Joan Giesen. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Shirley (Frank) Brewster, and brother-in-law Scott Gerner.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Eunice (Ludwig) Kartheiser, brothers Steve and Nicholas Kartheiser, and his Godfather Leo Vogt.

John was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on January 26, 1952. He graduated from Chilton High School in 1970. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Following his service to the country, he worked for Waldorf Roofing Company, American National Can, Ball Corporation, and Niagara Bottling. He was an exemplary husband and father. He adored his five Godchildren, Amy Guerin, Lizzie Guerin, Lance Gerner, Laure Bohn, and Natalie Hilbert.

John enjoyed his life richly. His passion and joy for life was evident in his pride and love of his wife and son. The treasures of his world were his family. He loved to spend time visiting with friends and family, helping with the church and the Knights of Columbus. His good nature was matched only by his wit and intelligence, both of which were signature features of his character (and were an occasional recipe for mischief in his youth). John was a stoic and dependable man who loved all of those who loved him and was loved by those he loved.

Funeral service for John Kartheiser will be held Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, 9 AM at Our Lady of the Ozarks Catholic Church, Forsyth, Mo.   Fr. J. Friedel will officiate. Interment at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri Friday Nov. 8, 2:00 P.M. with full military honors. Arrangements were by Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth, Mo.
