Johnny Lee Elmore, age 81, of Purdy, Missouri

             Johnny Lee Elmore, age 81, of Purdy, Missouri passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023 at his home.

            He was born July 28, 1941 in Iona, Texas the son of Charlie and Cecil (Capart) Elmore. On July 1, 1968 he was united in marriage to Darlene Chaney, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Eddie Elmore and his wife Kelia of Bellville, Illinois; one daughter, Lorrie Hall of Rolla, Missouri; six grandchildren, Justin Hall, Austin Hall, Matthew Elmore, Luke Elmore, Alex Elmore and Courtney O’Dell and two great-grandchildren, Martha O’Dell and Jonathan O’Dell.

            Preceding him in death were one brother, Joe Elmore and one sister, Betty Lou Bolin.

            Johnny attended school in Haskell, Texas. He joined the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War where he served four years. Returning home he became an over the road truck driver, retiring in 2003. Johnny then started farming. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a member of Arnhart Baptist Church.

            Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Arnhart Cemetery in Purdy, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Jason Mackey will conduct the services.

            Contributions may be made to Arnhart Baptist Church in memory of Johnny.
