Joseph “Joe” Ray Dotson, age 87, of Branson, Missouri.

Joseph “Joe” Ray Dotson, age 87, of Branson, Missouri, passed away August 24, 2022, at home with family nearby. He entered this life March 28, 1935, in Ellensburg, Washington, the son of Harry and Nellie (Holman) Dotson. He was united in marriage August 23, 1991, to Judith Anna Dunham. 

Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army for eight years in the signal corps while in Germany. During his working years, Joe was an excellent insurance and real estate salesman, but his joy came as a Lyft driver with 900+ rides and always an A-5 rating. Joe was happy to say he shared his story with nearly every customer of how the Lord worked in his life and healed him of cancer. He proudly spoke of his relationship with his savior and has left a trail of footsteps that need to be filled. Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Joe is preceded in death by his parents; five sisters: Louise Dotson, Elizabeth Dickerson, Rhonda Lawrence, Paulien LaCount, and Rachel Hargrove; and two brothers: John Dotson and James Dotson. 

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Judy Dotson; daughter, LaJuana (Phil) Foster of Phoenix, Arizona; four sons: David (Anita) Dotson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dan (Tracey) Dotson of Austin, Texas, Jim (Kathryn) Durham of Wichita, Kansas, and Kurt Hjertaas of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; five grandchildren: Lauren (Jeff), Tyler, and Kaila (Ryan), Force, Nicholas, and Sara; and four great grandchildren: Hazel, Zane, Kyran, and Rylan. 

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday October 1, 2022, at The Sanctuary of Hope, 1790 Bee Creek Rd., Branson, Missouri 65616. An inurnment will be held at a later date at the Edgar Springs Cemetery in Edgard Springs, Missouri with full military honors.
