Kenny Joe Carr...

Kenny Joe Carr was born on September 8, 1949, in Amarillo, TX. He was the son of Kathaleen C. (Nichols) Holland and James Wesley Holland. Kenny died suddenly at home on Monday, January 6, 2025, in Forsyth, at the age of 75.

Kenny had attended and graduated from St. Joe High School in St. Joe, AR. He served briefly in the US Air Force. He was very proud of his service. Kenny furthered his education at the College of the Ozarks, in Clarksville, AR obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting. He worked for a variety of banks, working his way up in the financial world, from Auditor to Vice President. Before retiring, his most recent employment was with Jack Henry & Assoc., a company that provides banking software, mostly to community banks and credit unions.

Kenny lived most of his adult life in various cities in Texas. He moved to this area in 1995, when Jack Henry offered him a position in Springfield, MO, to be closer to family. Kenny’s hobbies consisted of hunting, fishing, golf, and most recently woodworking, making papercrete flowerpots, and taking care of his bees. Kenny had a wonderful sense of humor and he loved to meet and talk to people. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say to those he met. He was a volunteer tax preparer at the Missouri Extension in Forsyth, helping with the VITA Program.

He met Denise Schreib of PA, in the year 2000, through an online chat room. They were ultimately married on May 17, 2003, in Branson, MO.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathaleen Owen and his stepfather Archie Owen; brother, Cory Franklin “Frank” Carr and nephew, Owen “Bumper” Carr. Kenny will be deeply missed by those who survive him: his loving wife, Denise Carr; mother-in-law Bonnie Schreib of Forsyth; sister-in-law, Tina Schreib of GA; and sister-in-law Carolina Carr of Forsyth. He will also be missed by numerous family and friends.

Services under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth, MO.

Visitation will be from 4-5:30PM, Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel. Celebration of life service will be Monday, January 13, 2025, 10:00AM, at Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel. Pastor Dennis Winzenried will officiate. Burial will follow at Osborne Cemetery, St. Joe, AR at 2:00PM.

Memorials in memory of Kenny Joe Carr may be made to the University of the Ozarks, 415 N. College Ave., Clarksville, AR. 72830, for assistance with future student scholarships.
