Lester Joseph Droste, 87.
Lester Joseph Droste, 87, passed away Wednesday November 27th, 2024, at his home in Forsyth, Missouri. He was born on March 26th, 1937, in Spearville, Kansas, to Edward and Mary (Bieberly) Droste. Lester was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the owner of L&B construction, a Kansas wheat farmer and rancher for many years, and in his later years, an avid gardener, sometimes growing 100 tomato plants in a season.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice of 66 years; children: Leslie Riley (Randy) of Forsyth, Missouri, Christine Lenz (Tim) of Wichita, Kansas, Donnie of Forsyth, Missouri, and Dave of Forsyth, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Amy, Mary, Nathan, Amanda, Ryan, Megan, Kolten, and Makenzie; thirteen great-grandchildren: Mitchel, Brooklyn, Grace, Drake, Lincoln, Genevieve, Gretchen, Bridget, Harriet, Meredith, Avery, Kynslee and Eleanor; two great-great-grandchildren: Rowan and Scout; sister, Karen Matthews; and a large extended family.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronnie; and siblings: Donald, Bernard, twin brother Chester and Betty Mae McCall.
Funeral services are pending at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Wright, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Andrew Cemetery Fund, 11798 Jewell Road, P.O. Box 125, Wright, KS 67882.
