Lola Loree Brown

Lola Loree Brown passed on peacefully to her heavenly home on November 4th, 2021.

Lola Loree Brown passed on peacefully to her heavenly home on November 4th, 2021. She had recently celebrated her 99th birthday with a family party surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Lola was born in Taney County on October 22nd, 1922 to Ralph and Grace (Bilyeu) Seaton. She was their fourth child and only daughter. Lola grew up with her seven brothers on the family farm north of Branson, Missouri. She attended her early school years at Antioch on Bear Creek, and she would tell stories of riding a mule on the mile journey to the one-room schoolhouse. Lola went on to graduate from Branson High School at age 16.

After high school, Lola worked at the county mapping office in Forsyth, Missouri. It was in Forsyth where she met the love of her life, Argel Brown, and they were married on July 6th, 1941. In 1943, Argel was called to serve his country in the Navy during World War II. Lola drove alone, cross-country from Missouri to San Francisco to be near him while he was stationed off the coast. She lived and worked in San Francisco until they returned home to the Ozarks together in 1945. They went on to have a daughter, Donna, in 1946, and a son, Danny, in 1949.

Lola and Argel raised their children in Branson, where they were active in their church, First Presbyterian, and the community. Lola was a homemaker extraordinaire, an excellent cook, and a talented seamstress. She was very creative and loved crafts, including knitting, crocheting, and painting. Her many paintings and handmade scarves are treasured by her family. She taught Bible school at church, served as a "pink lady" at the community hospital for many years, and volunteered at the thrift shop serving Taneyhills library. She loved flowers, her beautiful yard with its majestic walnut trees, and the home she and Argel designed and built in the 1950s. She also dearly loved to play bridge well into her 90s. She was always thoughtfully serving others with a home-cooked dish or a handmade item when stopping by for a visit. Most of all, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she'll always be with us in the legacy she leaves behind.

Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Argel, in 1981; her parents, Ralph and Grace Seaton; and six of her seven brothers: Alfred, Fred, Earl, Orvil, Ray, and Homer Seaton.

Lola is survived by her two children, Donna Huenfeld of Olathe, Kansas, and Danny Brown (Linda) of Walnut Shade, Missouri; her five grandchildren, Shelly Akers (John), Jason Brown (Lorrie), Travis Huenfeld (Amanda), Whitney Russell (Chris), and Lindsey Foxworthy (Kevin). She is survived by her beloved great-grandchildren, Jack Akers, Gabrielle Borup (Asa), Hadley Russell, Gavin Brown, Cru Huenfeld, Emeline Russell, Hudson Foxworthy, Chase Russell, Lauren Huenfeld, Delaney Foxworthy, and Slayton Huenfeld. She is further survived by her youngest brother, Pete Seaton, of Miller, Missouri, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and treasured, life-long friends.

What a beautiful 99 years of life Lola lived! We were blessed to have her for our mother and grandmother, our beloved "Nana" and "Gigi". We will love her always and treasure the memories.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lola's honor to:
