Lora “Fern” Boxley, age 92, of Washburn, Missouri was called home by God on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
She was born September 23, 1931 in Ingles, Kansas the daughter of Wilford T. and Ada Lora Deloris (Trail) Hall. On January 7, 1948 in Raton, New Mexico she was united in marriage to Glenn E. Boxley, who preceded her in death on May 18, 1995. Also preceding her in death were her parents and four brothers.
She is survived by their nine children, Glenn A. Boxley and his wife Kum of Warrensburg, Missouri, Raymond L. Boxley and his wife Brenda of Washburn, Missouri, V. Elaine Bates of Purdy, Missouri, Lora “Tina” Laughary of Aurora, Missouri, David C. Boxley and his wife Jennifer of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Daniel D. Boxley of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Rebecca N. Acosta of Wichita, Kansas, Karroll J. Boxley and his wife Teresa of Cassville, Missouri, Samuel D. Boxley and his wife Sandy of Washburn, Missouri; 23 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and two sisters, Barbara Hall Kunkle of Shelton, Washington and Florence Takahashi of Alverado, Texas and one brother, Vernon Hall of Walsenburg, Colorado.
Fern attended school in Canon City, Colorado graduating from Canon City High School. She embraced her role as a homemaker raising nine children. She and Glenn moved from Colorado to Washburn, Missouri in 1978. Fern enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, crocheting, and sewing but what was most important to her was her family. Her faith in God was the solid foundation upon which she built her family. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Chaplain Robert Mattingly will conduct the services.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time Wednesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
