Lora Lou Bruton, age 61, of Purdy, Missouri went home to her Lord on Friday, November 1, 2024 surrounded by family and friends.
She was born July 28, 1963 in San Luis Obispo, California the daughter of Bobby and Sarah (DeWitt) Bruton, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her brother, Carl Bruton and a sister, Ronda Pippin.
Surviving are her life partner of 17 years, Don Shelley of Purdy, Missouri; two sons, Jerry C. “J.C.” Hilburn of Swansboro, North Carolina and Jake Hilburn and his wife Kia of Lebanon, Missouri; four sisters, Brenda Williams and her husband Steve of Oronogo, Missouri, Glenda Barger and her husband Gerald of Pierce City, Missouri, Vonda Bruton of Seligman, Missouri and Bobbie Perpich and her husband Duane of Athens, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Madisyn, Mayson, Kaydence, Katheryn, Hayli, Wyatt and Kitara and two great grandchildren, Navaeh and Dovorah.
Lora and her family moved to the Seligman, Missouri area in 1965. She attended school at Southwest High School in Washburn, Missouri. Lora was employed by Allene Patterson Tax Service in Cassville, Missouri as a tax preparer for several years. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren and being called E-maw. Lora enjoyed embroidery, crocheting tending her flowers, going to the creek and being outside. She loved her dogs and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Lora was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
A celebration of life will be held from 11:30 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. Saturday, November 9, 2024 at H & H Pool Hall (American Legion Post 118) in Cassville, Missouri. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
