Luella Mae Leimer Canarsky, 96, of Harrison, Arkansas.
Luella Mae Leimer Canarsky, 96, of Harrison, Arkansas peacefully passed away on December 4, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on February 5, 1928, in Bancroft, Nebraska, the daughter of Ferdinand and Emilie (Tietz) Leimer.
Luella started her career in Nebraska selling Fashion Two Twenty Cosmetics. She was very successful in her endeavor, winning prizes such as jewelry, luggage, vacations and a car. She not only took pride in her job, but taking care of her skin and her appearance was very important to her. She was a beautiful woman.
Luella raised 6 children, 4 boys and 2 girls. She served her time as a cub scout leader and whatever else her children needed. Her family was the most important thing in her life, she loved them all dearly. She cherished the times spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She especially enjoyed going on vacation with them. It is fair to say, Luella had a full wonderful life! Achieving many goals and accomplishments.
Luella enjoyed countless hobbies, polka dancing, fishing, riding the motorcycle with her husband, jet skiing, canoeing on the Buffalo River, roller skating, bowling in tournaments, and cooking for her family. Last year, when she was 95 years old, her daughter Lori and son Jack talked her into helping them build a snowman. She had lots of fun assisting them.
In 1984, she moved to Harrison, Arkansas and started working at the Exxon Station. She eventfully became the manager. After 23 years of working there, she decided to retire at the age of 86. Needless to say, it is not difficult to tell what a hard worker she was. Luella was a woman of faith, she was a member of the Luteran Church in Harrison, Arkansas. There, she served as an elder and help the women with the Backpack program.
Luella is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin P. Canarsky, her daughter Brenda Reed, her parents, and her 4 brothers and 7 sisters.
Luella is survived by her sister Myrna Rush of South Carolina, her four sons, Alex (Nata) Canarsky, Paul (Gretch) Canarsky, James (Mary) Canarsky and Jack Canarsky and one daughter Lori Horsely. She also leaves behind 29 grandkids and numerous great grand kids and great great grandchildren. Also, she leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
To know her was a pleasure and a joy. Her family will miss her dearly, she will remain in their hearts forever. Her home was full of laughter and love.
A Celebration of Life is planned for January 11th, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the First Lutheran Church in Harrison, Arkansas. If you are unable to attend, the church will be live streaming the service.
