Michael Sorokes...

In loving memory of Michael Sorokes, who brightened our lives with laughter and kindness, passed away peacefully on July 10th, 2024. He was 50 years old. Michael was known for his infectious sense of humor and his endless repertoire of jokes that could lighten any room.

Born in Virginia Beach, Virginia on September 27th, 1973, he was the beloved son of Paul Sorokes and Georgirene (Spruill) Barren. Growing up, Michael had a passion for making others smile, a trait that defined his entire life.

A devoted husband to his wife Joyce Sorokes, Michael cherished their 23 years together, filled with love, joy, and countless shared laughs. He was a dedicated father figure to many family members. Always treating all children with love, respect, and compassion as if they were his own. He was always ready with a joke or a funny story to brighten their day.  In turn, they looked forward to his visits filled with humor and warmth.

Professionally, Michael enjoyed a number of successful careers in both the food industry as well as product fulfillment, where his wit and charm made him a favorite among colleagues and clients alike. He had a unique ability to turn even the most challenging situations into opportunities for laughter and camaraderie.

Beyond his humor, Michael had a deep love for Star Wars and other science fiction, spending many weekends pursuing his passions with friends and family by his side. He was a pillar of strength and support, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to those in need.

Michael Sorokes will be remembered for his unwavering optimism, his love for God, his family, and his ability to find joy in every moment. His legacy of laughter and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held on July 18th at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory in Branson Missouri. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM with the funeral service at 2:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Pine Top Cemetery in Hollister, MO.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to any animal shelter or humane society, in honor of Michael's generous spirit and love for his community. We will forever carry his laughter in our hearts, as Michael Sorokes continues to bring smiles to our faces, even in his absence. Rest in peace, dear friend, father, and husband. You will be deeply missed.
