Patsy Louise (Chandler) Moore

Patsy Louise (Chandler) Moore, 86.

Patsy Louise (Chandler) Moore, 86, passed away peacefully on Dec. 7, 2024, at the home of a family member in Lowell, AR. She was under the care of “Circle of Life” and comforted by the presence of family when passing.

Patsy was born on April 26, 1938, in Duncan OK, to Walter Franklin & Laura Elizabeth Chandler. She was the 4th of 10 children. The family traveled all around Oklahoma and Texas working in the cotton fields.

At 16, she met Merle Henry Moore, a former Army combat medic, they married Nov 4, 1954, and traveled coast to coast working various jobs, until settling in Oklahoma City, where they were blessed with three children, Misty, Steven, and Amanda.

In 1979 they relocated to northwest Arkansas, where she got her GED in 1980, then attended North Arkansas College, earning an Associate of Arts degree in 1983. She was a substitute teacher for several years and eventually ran two Tyson poultry houses on their family farm. She also enjoyed growing an extensive garden and canning every year.

In 1993, she found herself single and independent for the first time since she was 16. She began working at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center, bought a house and for years traveled to Northwest Arkansas, Ozark, MO, and Oklahoma City to see her siblings as often as she could.

She ended her working career, retiring from North Arkansas Community College 2002 and was content tending to her patio garden flowerpots, feeding the birds, especially the hummingbirds, and the occasional wildlife that found their way to her feeders. She was an avid storyteller and loved sitting and telling old stories to her kids and grandkids when they visited.

She also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino, old Western movies, and surprisingly the reality show - Naked and Afraid. She was a God-fearing and opinionated woman who could passionately debate politics and Fox News for days.

In June 2024, she became ill and moved to Lowell, AR. She remained strong and fearless through the 6 months of hospital stays and making the decision in November to have Circle of Life provide care for her.

Patsy was preceded in death by her father Walter, her mother Laura and stepfather Bill Campbell, sisters Trisha and Linda and brothers Harold, Wayne, Freddy, and Raymond.

She is survived by her sisters, Betty, Glenda, Carolyn, and sister-in-law Treasure. Daughter Misty Bailey of Lowell, son Steven Moore of Omaha, daughter/son-in-law Amanda & Robert Sullivan of Harrison. Grandchildren Mariah Moore, Hailey (husband John) Werner, Brianna Moore (Joe Broadus), Eli Wilson, Cortland Wilson, and Jonah Moore. Great grandbabies Silas Moore, Waylon Broadus, and Madelynn Jane Werner.

A private family celebration of life including a balloon and flower seeds release will be held on January 4, 2025, in Rogers, AR. She will be forever loved and missed.

Arrangements are under the care of Diamond State Cremation. Condolences may be left at www.DiamondStateCremation.com.
