Rena Ann Ringgold

Rena Ann Ringgold, age 85 of Branson, MO

Beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother, Rena Ann Ringgold of Branson, MO left this life to live with Jesus on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 1:20 PM in Springfield, MO at Select Specialty Hospital.

Rena was born on a dairy farm in Gainesville, New York on July 10, 1937 to Peter & Doris Boutwell.

She had six children, 5 living include Shirley Jones and their dog Princess of the home; also Jimmy Jones, Sharon Gibson and husband Barney of Holiday Island, AR, Timothy Jones and wife Daphnee of Ft. Smith, AR, Wesley Jones and wife Rhonda of Eureka Springs, AR.  Also surviving are grandchildren, Carla, Mike, Angie, Shirley Ann, Cara, Ciera, Reba, Diane, Timothy, Faith, Billy Ray, Angie, Charity, Phillip, Allen, Toby, Samantha, Brandon, Kristen, Trevor and a bushel of great-grandkids and counting along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rena was proceeded in death by her husband Billy Jones in 1995 and Leo Ringgold in 2012; her baby daughter Debra Sue Jones in 1958 and her three siblings, Wesley Boutwell, Peter Boutwell and Sally Voice.

Rena was a singer and song leader working beside her husband Billy for many years on the evangelistic field across the United States.  She led songs for many years under the tent where she and Billy held their revivals across the southern United States from the 1950 to mid 70s.  They also did mission work on Navajo and Apache reservations across Arizona and New Mexico.

Rena loved southern Gospel music, hymns, her church and family.  Most of all she loved her precious Savior, Jesus Christ and now she has met Him face to face.

Funeral services for Rena will be on Monday, January 30, 2023 at the First Assembly of God Church in Branson.  Visitation will be from 12:30 – 2:00 PM.  The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM in the church with burial following in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.  Arrangements are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
