Robert (Bob) Secrist
Robert (Bob) Secrist dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away June 25, 2022 at 12:02, at his home in Branson, MO, very suddenly after a very lengthy challenge with Parkinson’s Disease.
Bob was born on January 29th, 1946, in Maysville, KY, and had three children, Jeremy, Nicole and Matthew, and had 3 grandchildren, Ethan, Joseph and Victoria, plus 2 great-grandchildren, Elliott and Liam.
Bob was married to my precious sister Sharron for 26 years, and they lived in International Falls, MN, where Bob worked for Boise Cascade for 37 years, and likewise Sharron worked the same amount of time for Mary Kay Cosmetics, out of her home, and both were very successful. Bob would have worked much longer for Boise were it not for the Parkinson’s disease that had robbed his ability to have a steady hand, and being a brilliant electrician, he had to retire early.
Both were born again Christians who loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all their hearts, and served in their local church along with both serving in a very caring long time local Prison Ministry, that the Lord gave them great favor and outward success.
Bob loved the outdoors, and any time that he had throughout his life, he was hunting, fishing, landscaping his beautiful yard, with Sharron with the green thumb, planting a huge assortment of gorgeous plants, around their beautiful home.
Bob and Sharron just loved to travel, and saw so much of God’s beautiful country in America, and when my brother Mark and I would visit, each year, for two weeks, to see our mom, Irene Nye who has proceeded us July 3, 2019, at 12:02, Bob and Sharron would take us all over International Falls, and show us the gorgeous very green country side.
It has to be stated here, as well, that Bob was so instrumental in helping my sister with the caring of our very precious mother Irene for many years, my mom, sister, brother and myself from Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, and he loved us all, in spite of our strange African ways. During our mother’s illness, she had been re-located to Littlefork, MN, Hospice Center, and Bob would drive with my sister down to Littlefork, a town about 20 minutes away, every other day to visit her until her death from metastatic breast cancer, as stated earlier in July 3, 2019.
After our mother passed, and because simply being tired of the extreme below zero cold months, Bob and Sharron decided to relocate to Branson, MO, where they lived the past three years, and simply had a blast, and attended many shows and made so many precious friends.
Bob will be truly missed by his wife, Sharron and all his family, but we know that he is finally free from so much pain and discomfort, of which he never ever complained, but praised the Lord, like Job, from the Bible. He was a faithful, gracious, kind giving man, who said what he meant and meant what he said, and was a very bright light for our savior Jesus Christ.
We love you and miss you Bob, but we know, that we will see you again.
Memorial services with military honors will be Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Faith and Wisdom Church, Branson, MO.
