Roger Johnson was born on August 9, 1936 in DeKalb, Illinois. He was the son of Walter & Minnie Johnson. Roger graduated from DeKalb High School and underwent study and training to become an electrician. He then spent most of his career working as an electrician with Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.
On March 18, 1988, Roger married his loving wife, Virginia in Sycamore, IL. In 1998 they moved to Missouri to care for Virginia’s parents.
One of Roger’s greatest enjoyments was playing golf. He especially loved spending time on the golf course with his sons and grandsons. He and Virginia also had many great adventures biking together and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors.
Roger passed away at his home in Branson on February 27, 2025 at the age of 88.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Minnie; his son, Michael Johnson; and brothers, William Johnson and Richard Johnson.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Virginia Johnson of Branson; his son, Jeffrey Johnson & wife Francie of Lead Hill, AR; brother, Robert Johnson; six grandchildren; his beloved great-grandchildren as well as his nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1965 Bee Creek Rd., Branson, MO on March 29, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Cremation arrangements were in the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson. Final resting place will be in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
