Rosalene "Rosie" Barnes, age 78, Branson, Missouri
BoRosalene "Rosie" Barnesrn, known for her generosity and thoughtfulness, passed away on December 11, 2023, at the age of 78 in Branson, Missouri. Born on December 6, 1945, in Los Angeles, California, Rosie was the treasured daughter of the late Richard and Rosella Alsop.
On June 17, 1967, at the San Gabriel Mission, Rosie married the love of her life, Gary Wayne Barnes, who preceded her in death. The couple's love and partnership were a testament to commitment and family as they raised their beloved children, Katheryn and John. The couple also enjoyed traveling the world together which were some of Rosie’s most cherished times and memories.
Rosie showcased her incredible work ethic and dedication over a 34-year career with Allstate Insurance, where she retired as a claims manager. She was a proud member of the inaugural Allstate Catastrophe Team and subsequent teams, demonstrating strength and leadership during challenging times. Rosie also had an incredible faith and servant’s heart. She was very active in serving and ministry work at the First Methodist Church of Livingston, Texas. After moving to Branson in 2021 she became a part of the fellowship at Branson United Methodist Church.
Her hobbies were a reflection of her caring nature. Rosie actively participated in a knitting and crocheting group in Texas, creating baby blankets and booties that were donated to local hospitals. Her love for cats, her exceptional cooking skills, and her great smile will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate to know her.
Rosie was so very special. Her thoughtfulness and generosity touched many and will continue to be celebrated by her loving family and friends. Rosie's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who loved her especially her children, daughter Katheryn Barnes of Branson and son John Barnes & wife Gloria of Weslaco, Texas; her brother George Alsop of Reno, NV and her five grandchildren who brought immense joy into her life, Logan, Jaleigh, Liam, Jace, and Adaline Rose.
A celebration of Rosie’s life will be held inside Holt’s Chapel at the Branson United Methodist Church on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
