Ruby Jo Johnson, Reeds Spring, Mo,
Ruby Jo Johnson, Reeds Spring, Mo, daughter of Earl and Ruby (Wright) Cavett, was born January 9, 1941, in Pawnee, OK and departed this life on April 29, 2022, at the age of 81.
In 1967, Ruby Jo left all, but a small suitcase, in Pawnee, Oklahoma and joined Allan in Shelbyville Indiana where they were united in marriage and started their life together for 55 years. She traveled with Allan throughout the country and internationally as Allan worked in the Pipeline Construction Industry. Ruby Jo made hundreds of friends all over the country working alongside Allan as his office manager on many occasions.
When not working in the field office on projects, “Jo” pursued hobbies in Ceramics and making patchwork quilts, with her favorite hobby being flower gardens, bird watching, and, when possible, spending time with family and friends. Jo also loved snowmobiling and ice fishing while spending the cold winters in Minnesota, where they owned and operated a Resort in Itasca County Minnesota. After moving to Grand Rapids MI. Jo was involved with Stonecroft ministries as Chairman as well as conducting bible studies in her home on a weekly basis.
Jo and her husband, Allan are now residents of Reeds Spring, moving here from Grand Rapids, Minnesota, ten years ago. Allan and Jo attended Talking Rock Road Baptist Church in Branson West, Mo, and was also involved in the Gideon Bible Ministry.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jason Johnson; brothers, Bob Cavett, Asa Cavett and Ronny Cavett; and sisters, Earlene Justus, Wanda Waters and Diane Newman.
Survivors include: her husband of almost fifty-five years, Allan Johnson of Reeds Spring, Mo; son, Chad Allan Johnson and wife, Gina of Grand Rapids MI; brother, Richard Cavett and wife, Beverly; sister, Betty Campbell of Pawnee, OK; three grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation for Jo will be held Friday, May 6, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Stumpff Funeral Chapel Kimberling City, MO. Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the Talking Rock Baptist Church Branson West, MO, with Pastor Delbert Davis officiating. If desired in lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the Gideons through the Memorial Bible system. Cards will be available at the church.
