Sharon Lavon (Siman) Barnes

Sharon Lavon (Siman) Barnes, age 79, of Springfield, Missouri

Sharon Lavon (Siman) Barnes, age 79, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away December 1, 2022, at her home. She entered this life on September 15, 1943, in Springfield Missouri, the daughter of Jack and Helen (Bolin) Siman. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, James Barnes; three sisters: Jacqueline McMurray, Dorothy Siman, and Marilyn Siman; and her children’s father, Kenneth Ice.

Sharon enjoyed life to the fullest and loved being involved in family activities. All you had to do was ask her if she wanted to ‘go’, and she always replied enthusiastically with a YES! Her love for adventure and travelling has taken her to Israel and Germany, and bus-touring in the Midwest and various other places throughout her life. Autumn was her favorite time of year because she loved the brilliant colors that blanketed nature’s landscape. Sharon also enjoyed doing various crafts, such as cross-stitch and canvas painting. The highlight of Sharon’s life was found in her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Seeing them walk through her door for a visit brought a beautiful, radiant smile to her face. Nothing made her happier than to spend time with them. Her servant’s heart always made sure her guests were well fed and had plenty to drink. Sharon’s dog, Jack, has been a faithful companion for several years. She loved pampering him with a variety of treats. Sharon didn’t go anywhere without Jack at her side.

Sharon worked for many years and retired as a nurse’s assistant at Smith Glynn Callaway Clinic in Springfield, Missouri. She attended Harvest Ministries church in Springfield, Missouri, where she enjoyed the fellowship of her church family.

Sharon is survived by her three children: Kevin (Lisa) Ice of Republic, Missouri, Tamara (Paul) Tucker of Nixa, Missouri, and Kenton Ice of Springfield, Missouri; six grandchildren: Melissa (Jerry) Thurman, Michelle Campbell, Paul Tucker Jr., Matthew Tucker, LeeAnna (Everett) Howell, and Dalton (Krista) Ice; six great-grandchildren: Hailey Ice, Haiden Coble, Cierra Gideon, Zackary Campbell, Jeremy Tucker, and Rachlyn Tucker; LeeAnna & Dalton’s mother, Regenia Estes, and Kenton’s ex-wife, Carmen; and many other nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Harvest Ministries, 3114 E. Sunset, Springfield, Missouri 65804. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
