Tracy Florence (Weber) Sturdivant age 104 of Rockaway Beach, Missouri
Tracy Florence (Weber) Sturdivant age 104 of Johnstown, Colorado, passed away April 4, 2023, at home. She was born on September 6, 1918, in Niles Township, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Verdie (White) Weber. She grew up near Colwell, Iowa attending school in Colwell and Charles City. She married Donald Sturdivant on June 4, 1941, in New Hampton, Iowa celebrating 75 years of marriage in 2016.
Living in the Charles City area, Tracy taught country, grade, and high school classes with Special Education being her specialty over her 39-year career. She started teaching at age 18 retiring in June 1980, when she and Don moved to Rockaway Beach, Missouri. In their 90’s they moved to Denver/Johnstown, Colorado where she resided for the last 11 years.
She had lifetime teaching certification based on her original teaching certificate. She enjoyed various types of crafts, reading, dancing, camping with friends and family, and traveling throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. She was active at the Johnstown Senior Center enjoying many friendships, lunches, and bingo games. Tracy focused on her family while finding new adventures throughout her life.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Clausen of Johnstown, Colorado and Janan (David) Haugen of Indianola, Iowa; two grandchildren, Sarah (Jeff) Michaelis of Mead, Colorado, and Cody Haugen (Danielle Travers) of Grandview, Missouri; and three great-grandchildren, Cole Michaelis, Caden Haugen, and Cael Michaelis.
Tracy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald; a grandson Dustin Haugen; and a great-granddaughter Aurora Haugen. She joined her husband at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Missouri. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 2 at Grace Community Church, 2033 West South 1st Street, Johnstown, Colorado.
