Vickie Traub

Vickie Traub, a retired teacher and long-time resident of Hollister, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2022 at the age of 71 years, 11 months.

She was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Vernon and Margie Traub on August 31, 1950.  Both parents preceded her in death.    She leaves behind many distant relatives and many treasured former students and their families. She also leaves behind several dear friends who were like her “sisters” and family.

Vickie spent the majority of her childhood in the St. Louis area.  Her family then moved to Camdenton, Missouri where she graduated from high school.  The next move for her family was to the Hollister area.  Here, she graduated from School of the Ozarks and began her teaching career in Reeds Spring, Missouri in 1980.  She taught in the elementary, intermediate, and middle school in Reeds Spring for 25 years.  During those teaching years, she continued her own education, finishing with a Master’s Degree in Education.

Vickie was blessed with the gift to teach and she never stopped striving to help her students become the best they could be.  Even in her retirement, she continued to remember her students and kept in contact with many as they became adults.

Vickie will be remembered for her kindness and the pleasure she had in helping others.  Her greatest joy was searching for the perfect gifts for friends, family and her students.  She loved to travel, and visited many states with her mother and friends.  One of her favorite places was Hawaii. Vickie always had a map close by, looking for the next adventure and place to visit.

Family and friends will treasure Vickie’s love of life, friendship, sense of humor, and compassion.  She dedicated her life to family, students, and friends.  Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew her.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 10:00 AM in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.
