Wendell Harold “Winkie” Shepard, age 73, of Shell Knob, Missouri.

Wendell Harold “Winkie” Shepard, age 73, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away November 12, 2021 at his home.

He was born December 7, 1947 in Branson, Missouri, the son of Wilber and Alice (Pride) Shepard.  On April 14, 1984 in Aurora, Missouri, he was united in marriage to his lovely wife Ruth Nicholls, who survives.  Also surviving are two sons, Coby Shepard and his husband Todd McIntyre of Tampa, Florida and Scott Shepard and his wife Tabitha of Mount Vernon, Missouri; one daughter, Shelia Campbell and her husband Lester of Crane, Missouri; two brothers, Ronnie Shepard of Shell Knob, Missouri and Tommy Shepard of Golden, Missouri; four sisters Wanda Corning of Marshall, Arkansas, Carol Greenhaw of Oklahoma and Tina DeLong of Lampe, Missouri; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Will, Dale and David and one sister Virginia.

Wendell grew up and received his education in Branson, Missouri, where he graduated from high school.  He was drafted by the United States Army and served two years in Vietnam. 

After returning, he owned and operated Shepard’s Garage in Aurora, Missouri for several years and later went to work for a moving company and spent time cutting and selling wood.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors.
