William Bert “Bill” Jines, age 86, of Cassville, Missouri.
William Bert “Bill” Jines, age 86, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Monday, December 23, 2024 at his home.
He was born February 20, 1938 in Perryton, Texas the son of J.W. and Dorthy Mae (Mason) Jines. On August 26, 1961 in Perryton, Texas he was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Walker, who preceded him in death on October 7, 2016. Also preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Wesley Jines and sister, Ernistine McGaugh.
Surviving are two sons, Vincent Jines of Cassville, Missouri and Courtney Jines of Anchorage, Alaska; one daughter, Tressamé Holtzman and her husband Jonathan of Cassville, Missouri; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Bill grew up and attended school in Perryton, Texas graduating from Perryton High School in 1956 later attending Texas Tech for one year where he played football. He then attended both Oklahoma State and Panhandle State simultaneously where he earned a dual BA in Agriculture. In 1962 he won first place in Texas for Quarter Horse judging. Bill had lived in this area for 58 years coming from Perryton, Texas. He was employed as Chief Juvenile Officer for the 39th Judicial Circuit Court for several years from where he retired. Bill enjoyed working on the farm, gardening, working on cars, fixing fence, and raising Quarter Horses. He liked to study manuals and loved his cats and dogs. He was of the Christian faith.
Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Friday, January 3, 2025 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Donnie Spears will conduct the services.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
A celebration of life gathering with be held in Perryton, Texas at a later date.
